Introducing our new Foster Coordinator

We would also like to welcome a new member to the team in the form of our foster extraordinaire and now Foster Coordinator Chrissie Wrigley.

We have known Chrissie for years, she has been a fantastic support, often taking a foster in at short notice, always smiling and willing to lend a hand. Her knowledge of the greyhounds is fantastic and Chrissie’s ‘Display Model’ hound is Sally (Idol Georgie), make no mistake Sally is amazing at showing the new fosters how to ‘pet’. If you have a greyhound that has been fostered by Chrissie and her family, you’re lucky, she gave them an amazing introduction to pet life.

We’re excited to welcome Chrissie and family to the team and wish to thank her again for joining us 🥰

Here are some snaps I took of Craig yesterday with Paige (who is for adoption) and Sid and Scarlet (who definitely are not😉) Thank you so much Craig, yesterday was a blast and we cannot wait to work with you again soon!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help retired racing greyhounds find loving pet homes at the end of their racing career and to actively promote greyhounds as wonderful pets.

Working alongside other rehoming groups, we strive to individually match each dog with a family. We will offer ongoing support and guidance to all adoptive families, for however long is needed after the initial adoption.

We will be working with the Great Mates Rehoming programme, which was set up by Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) in 2019.

The Great Mates Rehoming Programme is dedicated to rehoming more greyhounds by providing full assessments, training, grooming, vet care and de-sexing, to fully prepare each retired racing greyhound for a new life as a pet. GRNZ want to give every dog the best chance of being successfully rehomed. Therefore, every dog that enters the GRNZ Great Mates Rehoming Programme will be assessed not as a 'pass' or 'fail' but assessed in what areas they need extra training, to adjust to life as a pet. GRNZ and Nightrave Greyhounds will provide this specialist training.
